OOTD - Where did the weekend go?

Monday, March 31, 2014

How was your weekend? I didn't do much but my weekend just seemed disappear. I planned on being productive but that didn't work; I did catch on all episodes of the Voice… so that's something, right? Since the weather is starting to somewhat resemble spring, dressing up for a a game of pool was just what was needed.
Leather is great to dress any outfit up. I was impartial to wearing a west since I could never find one that just fit right; however this west is structured enough yet comfortable.
Shirt: H&M , Leggings: Aritzia, Vest: Simons, Boots: Aldo

I am very much all about black most of the time. I find that clothes in black seem to fit better, weird I know. What colour are you most comfortable in?

OOTD - What are you wearing?

Monday, March 24, 2014

Since spring seems to be nowhere in sight in Edmonton I find misled wearing sweaters and hats. This grey and black combo seems just wonderful to me... Yes it might lack color but gloomy winter days call for tame colors. What is your go to clothes?

Have a wonderful Monday.

Up close and personal: that one great love

Thursday, March 6, 2014

Today we are gonna get more serious and get a little more personal. Since I m living out of a hotel, I have had plenty of time to do bunch of reading and catching up on TV. Last night I read this on Elite Daily… and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a great piece written by Paul Hudson, about why The Hook-Up culture only exists because this generation has never properly fallen in love. (This would be the serious talkJ)

I have been single for a fairly long time now. I’ve never been a person to have random hook-ups and I am not big on dating for hell of having someone around. I want something better; I want the over the top love, someone to give me butterflies every time I see them, someone who completes me and makes me better. I want great love not just good kind of love. & this kind of love does exist. This is where the article and I agree on!

Anyone that has had someone in their life that showed them that great things are possible and that do not settle for just OK things only because they don’t want to alone will have a hard time dating. Once again, this where I agree with Paul. I blame my ex (who for his own privacy, shell remains nameless). It is his fault I now hold all guys to his standard of what a relationship should be… and that standard is set somewhere between great and romantic movie kind of love. Don’t get me wrong, we were a total fuc*ing mess by the end, that’s why he is an ex but before it all went to hell there was a long period of time that our relationship was breathtaking, over the top and wonderful.

Its now three years later and I m still waiting for someone to give me that feeling; you know where you get butterflies every time they are around, make you knees weak, and make you want to be a better you. My friends (and society) for most part, don’t see it like I do. They think I should be out there dating people and hooking-up because in their eyes it the only way. One of my girlfriends always says “You have to kiss lots of frogs, before one turns into a prince”. Fine, to a point I see what she means, but the risk with that is (like the article says) you end up just settling at some point. Last summer, under pressure of my friends, I started dating someone…even though I knew he was not for me. He was a great guy and I wish him all the best but he was not great for me; not even good for me.

Is it completely wrong to want a great love? To want romance? Or is the new standard finding someone whose company you like but that’s it?

Liebster Award!

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

I was so flattered to receive an email from SJ from FASHinNY to let me know she had nominated me for a Liebster Award. This is very exciting for me, Liebster Award is something bloggers give to other bloggers who they consider to be up and coming and deserving of some attention.

Thank you so much. I’m so excited to meet new people who like my blog, and I’ve been lucky enough to meet new people every week.

Here are the Liebster Rules:
1. Answer the questions posed by the blogger who nominated you.
2. Nominate 5-11 bloggers for the award.
3. Create 11 new questions for your nominees.
4. Go to each blogger’s site and let them know about the award.
5. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to her blog.

Here are the answers to questions SJ sent me:
1) How did you decide to start blogging?
Years ago I started a blog while I traveled in Europe so my family and friends could see my pictures… it was horrible but I had such great time writing. So years later I started this blog

2) What’s your favorite thing about blogging?
Meeting other bloggers is definitely one of my favorite things about blogging. Since I started blogging a year ago I met so many wonderful people.

3) What’s the biggest challenge you are having with blogging?
Time management!!! (You might remember this). My job takes so much out of me and some days by time I get home or finally get back to the hotel time escapes me and there goes another day with no blog posts.

4) What do you do for fun?
I do yoga, read and spend time with my family and friends. Life seems to get so busy so fast, taking time to spend with your loved ones or taking time for yourself is important.

5) What’s one clothing item you couldn’t live without?
Black pants (specifically these ones). They go with everything, very easy to dress up or dress down. I think I am on my 5th pair. I also currently own two of them.

6) What’s a hobby you have to have in your life?
Reading (that’s a hobby right?). Reading is my escape and I never get board of reading.

7) Which movie can you watch a million times?
This is hard since I love movies…there are classics I could go back and watch again but I think Pitch Perfect or Bourne Identity. I’ve seen both of those more times than I can count.

8) If you could meet anyone you wish who would it be?
Kate Middleton. She is so beautiful, well put and elegant. I think a conversation with her would be wonderful and enticing.

9) If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Hawaii!!!!(Some little island maybe???). I am strongly considering living on a boat or in a little hut. Canadian winters will be the death of me one day.

10) What do you love the most about yourself?
I love that I m content with my life; What I mean,  I m a very happy and chipper person; I speak my mind and if I don’t like something about my life I do everything in my power to change it …it doesn’t always work but in the end I know I did everything in my power to change it…and that is what I love about myself

11) What would you like to achieve with your blog?
I would love to grow my blog (Who wouldn’t) but more than that I would like my blog to inspire people. Regardless if its fashion, lifestyle or my ramblings to the world… I would like what I write to make a difference some day and inspire people.

New Questions:
1.   What is your favorite thing about blogging?
2.   If you could have any career, what would it be?
3.   If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
4.   What is your go-to comfort food?
5.   Favorite TV show or a Movie?
6.   What do you love the most about yourself?
7.   What do you order at a coffee shop?
8.   What’s one clothing item you couldn’t live without?
9.   What is the last book you read?
10. What is your favorite clothing store?
11.  What would you like to achieve with your blog?

I would like to nominate:

Melissa from Everygoodthingblog
Maddy from Cassidy Lou.
Anne from Lifestyle Oasis

Have fun. I look forward to reading your answers.
