Netflix favorites

I have confession to make… I watch a lot of TV; some of my friends would say I watch all of the TV and all the movies. Sometimes my taste in watching mediocre movies or TV shows is rather embarrassing. I'll enjoy pretty much any TV show or movie but romantic comedies are what I gravitate towards and often watch them multiple times (I’ve seen Walk to Remember and Pitch Perfect over 10 times… each). Regardless if I am having a low-key night in with girlfriends, or just hanging out watching TV alone (currently being done outside on my deck) there are some movies and shows I keep reverting to and re-watching them.  I thought I'd share ten of my favorite Netflix movies and TV shows:

Movies:
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Tracks
Escape from Alcatraz
The  Hunger games (1+2)
Amelie
Dirty Dancing
Mud
Short term 12

 TV Shows:
White Collar
How I met your mother
The walking dead
Graceland
Planet Earth
Prison Break
Grey's anatomy
Arrow
Scandal
Gilmore Girls

OOTD - grey and green

Monday, June 29, 2015

Dressy shorts are for those days I actually want to wear pants... I am very much a skirt and dress kind of person. These shorts are much cozier than jeans and dressy pants, and are cute too. I don't find many shorts comfortable but these fit loose and have pockets which can easily be dressed up or down.
I think I want those  in a different colour or leather versions, and of course sequin versions. Green and grey are one of my favourite combinations as of late; so I paid those together for a trip to the farmers market.

Chocolate chip cookie ice-cream sandwiches

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

What better way that to kick off summer other then having ice ream and sandwiches? I used the ice ream recipe I shared here and make chocolate chip cookies. Now you can take the easy way and just buy cookie dough and have fun dessert ready in under 30 minutes or you can make these delicious and chewy cookies. I used this recipe and modified it over the years. I use 2 cups of flour and only a 1/2 of brown sugar.

I make those when I need dessert and don' have a lot of time and they are always a hit.

What are your favourite cookies?

OOTD - t-shirt and skirt

Monday, June 22, 2015

T-shirts are one of the most versatile items of clothing; not only are they comfortable but can easily be dressed up or down. Even though T-shirts have been categorized as casual wear for so many years that most of us haven’t even tried to incorporate them into a business casual style. There are easy ways for your t-shirts to find their way into your work wardrobe.
The easiest way to make a t-shirt work-appropriate is to pair it with a blazer, or tucked into a dressy skirt. This Lululemon skirt is one of my favorite skirts and I wore it to a work function with a t-shirt from Zara.

OOTD-Midi dress & t-shirt

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

I love midi dresses and skirts, there is something so magical and fun about them. I can wear them all the time. I don't like buying dresses that I can wear only once; if you remember I wore this dress for a wedding but since it is unique I couldn't figure out where and how to wear it again. Then It donned on me, I should just wear it as a skirt.

OOTD-Dressing up with Jord Watches

Thursday, June 4, 2015

I play dress up all the time: pretty shoes, dresses and accessories make all days better. Finding jewelry to wear on daily basis can be a challenge, some of it so heavy and chunky that I end up taking it off half way thought the day. So when I got this JORD Watch I was in love. It's super light weight, I forget I have in on; it's practical and well made.

I have worn it with jeans and t-shirt and today I paired it up with this dress for work. I like that this JORD Watch is very versatile and can be worn for any occasion. I like this Ely series wood watch colour and the fact it's unique (as is all their watches), so its easy to pair up with different colours and outfits. There is something wonderful about quality, unique watches; I know it can't text or check Facebook but it can do the most important thing- keep you on time while look stylish and distinguished. JORD is a Swedish based company with an passion for nature and modern design.  By making wood the main feature of the watch, JORD is able to create a timepiece that are simple, modern and sustainable.

OOTD- Pink skirt

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

This weekend was exactly what I needed and while I stayed in casual clothes almost the entire time and played too many spots, I threw on this very simple and girly outfit for a dinner out. The warm weather and sunshine are making for a great spring, and granted there are still a few chilly and rainy days, I can't help it but to start wearing all my summer clothes.

I've embraced the midi skirt in a big way, and this pink skirt stolen my heat from the moment that I saw it. I've always found that pleated skirts work well on many people, but sometimes with my height they seem to fit me oddly, so imagine my delight when I paired the skirt with a crop top and it worked. I love that this skirt falls just below the knee , making it perfect for the office and evening too.
