Reasons Why I'm Single

Saturday, July 30, 2016

I  have a lot of thoughts and opinions about relationships. My relationships life can be summed up into either  "OMG you are wearing an engagement ring!" or "You have been single for so long". In actuality, everyone else seems to be way more concerned about my lack of a partner than I am. I am fine being single. (fine is a wrong word, only people are not fine say they are fine.) I am good with being single.
Now that I’m fast approaching 30, it seems the panic and concern about lack of my love life is higher than ever. My family, friends and people who-I-don't-even-know-why-they-get-an-opinion-on-this are severely worried about my happiness, my finances, me passing the age where someone will want to marry me, age where I wont be able to have kids ...

So here is a list of some of reasons why I am currently single:

I am happy.
How many people do you that are genuinely happy? Who are content with life just as is?
 I know one. Me.

 I like my independence.
I placed my career first for a long time. This brought on the need for independence.  I like staying up late at night, reading books, watching entire Netflix series in one weekend, not putting pants on if I don't want to, paining the hallway way I want it, ordering in all week and sleeping diagonally across my bed just because I can.

Its a choice.
Marriage is for many people, I am not one of them. I don't want to change my last name, I don't want children, I don't see the need for a wedding or wearing rings. If I wanted to spend my life with someone, I want to do it just because I want to be with them more than anything, not so I can say I am married or it fit in my 5 to 10 year plan. Recently I pictured myself in a serious relationship and It gave me a panic attack thinking of all of the things I would miss about my current way of life. If I am being honest, its not that there aren't men who are amazing and wonderful around, fact I am still single is a choice. I chose not to let anyone in.

Casualty of wrong place wrong time.
You know how people say there is someone for everyone, well I think the person who makes me smile, gives me butterflies, laughs at my horrible jokes and brings me chocolate walked in and walked right out of my life because I made that choice for him.

Its OK to be single.
Might not be way many see it, and it might be different BUT its ok.

So there you have it.

Summer is in full swing and if you are anything like me, you want to make most of it. Spending the day at the beach or the pool is where we all want to be.
Yes bringing a towel, sunblock and sunglass is what we all think off but today we rounded up five must have beach essentials that are sure to ensure you have an awesome day:

Oversized Beach Towel.
You'll make waves on the beach or at the pool with these oversized beach towel; comfortable and stylish.

OOTD - Fire and Ice

Wednesday, July 27, 2016

I have been on a search for a perfect pair of white jeans for a long as I can remember. My number one problem with white jeans is how see-through they are; many of the jeans I have owned and tried are  the same thickness, but are a little more transparent. That is until I found these white jeans.  These are super comfortable and feel almost like jeggings; I paired them with a  white shirt and some fire-y accessories.

OOTD - Graphic shirt and Jeans

Monday, July 25, 2016

I prefer to wear dresses and skirt over anything else, there is something I love about graphic shirts and ripped jeans. Graphic shirts are a great way to add fun detail to any outfit. They have a very easy and relaxed street style which makes them really simple to wear. I paired my worn out jeans and a graphic shirt of a date night. I added bracelets and simple tie sandal to complete the look. What do you think of wearing graphic tees?

Fashion: Where we spend and where we save?

Saturday, July 23, 2016

I think one the hardest questions to answer for fashionistas is where to spend and where to save some money. I do my best to mix high end items and lows to create a balance. Trying to stay current with trends I shop at H&M, Forever 21, Zara and yeah occasionally, Neiman Marcus too. I am fond believer that in order to master your style, you have to be comfortable with what you are wearing and spending on clothes. Here is where we spend and where we save:
(image)
Amy:
I spend money on jeans. They have to be my favorite thing to buy. And one of the few things I can justify the brand name on. A perfect pair of jeans is comfortable and can do wonders for your bum. Plus a quality pair of jeans will last for years and years.

Zahra:
When it comes to clothes/fashion: What do you spend money on? What do you save money on? I try not to spend a lot of money on clothes in general the only items I have spent a lot of money on are my jackets because it is cold here most of the year so you definitely get your money’s worth with a winter jacket and boots I also spend money on a good pair of boots. I have a jacket from Artizia a long grey jacket by Community and Uggs navy blue boots. I also have multiple dress coats for winter. Other than that my wardrobe mainly consists of Jersey cotton dresses and tights, which are comfortable and suit my body type and they also happen to be inexpensive. I have a few from H&M and Forever 21 none of them are over $30.

Nermisa:
What I splurge on… A good handbag and shoes. You will be wearing this every day, you can invest in a nice handbag that will not only uplift every outfit but also last you a long, long time. Mind you , splurging on good shoes doesn’t mean they all have to be Christian Louboutins, not all of your shoes have to have red soles, but you know what I mean. Invest in great shoes that will be comfortable and last a while. Where I save some money is shopping through trends and items like t-shirts, jewelry etc.

What do you splurge on? What do you save on?

Summer's Best Reads

Thursday, July 21, 2016

Hello Summer! Longer days means doing more things! Like reading books.  I'm currently on a wait list at the library for 5 books. Straight madness. And it just doesn't seem to be enough. It's all that's been on my mind lately, I love it. Here's my list of Summer reads:

10210

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Normally I'm not huge fan of the classics. There are a few I hold dear to my heart and then the ones I wanted to throw into the ocean. Take Heathcliff with you JAWS! But I loves me some Jane (Austin and Eyre).

15507958

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Yet another book turned movie. Let's read the book first. Mind you, the only reason I picked this book up was because the preview got me right in the feels. You know this sucker is going to get you in the heart strings. Read it then run off and watch the movie.

26109041

The Voodoo Killings By Kristi Charish
Title: excellent. Content: Veronica Mars meets Walking Dead. Canadian Female author: Perfect. Seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this book!

24154660

Curse of the Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones
You might be sick of me talking about these books but quite frankly I just don't care. When I can screen shot the page from the book to email a paragraph that has me laughing hysterically, send it to my bestie and she calls me laughing too - there will be high praise for days! Humour, badass bitch, some ghosts, and a sexy devil. What more could you want?

What are you all reading? What should I add to my goodreads shelf?

OOTD - Lace Trim Dress

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

I am 5'9''so most dresses fit me oddly length wise. Most maxi dresses hit just above the ankle or look more like a midi dress. This white dress is no exception, I think it actually says "maxi" on it but fits me more like a midi dress. I love this dress for the lace detail and its simplicity for summer... you also cant beat the $29.99 price tag.
