OOTD-Just add some colour

Do you dress up everyday? Do you miss days when you can just bum out? Due to what I do I have to dress "corporate world" appropriate everyday. I dislike wearing suits, so I do as much as I can to add my own little twist, to make my work wardrobe funner. Sometimes simple adding colour and gold details can change your entire outfit.

Even tho its still winter in YEG, I m loving all the pastel colours showing up everywhere. Makes me believe that spring is near by… I can dream, right?

From my loved ones, to yours

Today, for us in Canada, is family day. Which for for some part means staying home from work and school and spending times with your loved ones. 

I m spending the morning at home with my brother,  probably getting my butt kicked in FIFA and then dinner with rest of the family.

Will you be my Valentine?

What are you plans for Valentines? Are you doing anything exciting? 

I find that a lot of single people find themselves sad around Valentines... however I don't think being single on Valentines is all that bad. 

Surrounding yourself with people you love and making a day out of it makes for a great valentines. 

Few of my friends, couples and single people, are getting together and going to the mountains. I think it will be a great way to spend valentines day.

Why men's lives are easier

Last night over coffee, one of my very close friends and I somehow come to topic about how much easier our lives would be if we were men. We would never have to worry about having to shave our legs again, we can buy a 3 in 1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash,  they never have to worry about PMS, one night stands are appropriate and most of all; their emotions don't mess with their whole day.

I laughed pretty hard when I saw this picture... mainly because its pretty accurate. 

I got home and thought of things that men do and that we (women) could maybe adopt to make our life.. simpler.

1) Down-size beauty products. I don't know about you but I have 6 body washes, 10 body creams, and don't get me even started on skin care routine. Men have 2-5 different products tops. Makes getting ready in the morning a lot easier.

2) Pack less when traveling... I know that's a lot easier said then done, but do we really need 4 pairs of stilettos.. and 2 pair of black ones?

3) Walk out of the house with messy hair, yesterdays shirt and still think we are HOT. If they can do it why can't we?

Let's talks about skirts

My work place is fairy conservative & some days way too old school; so when I saw this picture I was like "Ohh, I see. Maybe.. just maybe, they have a point." My work considers proper , somewhere between "Old school" and "Prudish". I understand why & that it looks professional; but do they know how hard it is to find a skirt that is that long when you are nearly 6' tall in flats? and a decent looking skirt at that?

I think that we should be able to wear skirts, as long as we look professional. Its 21st century! Fashion has changed and I think what is considered professional should be altered to fit the modern and up to date fashion. 

Do you have same issues? Do you have a difficult time finding pieces that are work appropriate?

IHow was your weekend? Did you go anything exciting?  My weekends generally consists of lazy Sundays and get things done Mondays. Today is possibly the last Monday I will have off for a while, I think I will miss having a week day off; you can get so many things done on a Monday since everyone is working.  I had a soccer game at 10pm last night and by time I was home it was nearly midnight... so waking up this morning was not fun... and I have so many things to do today.

BUT before I can get started,  coffee.
