I am not sure if it's the grey, rainy weather or too many books and movies that has me day dreaming of holidays. I recently watched House Hunters International and it got me thinking about how much I need to add Sicily on my travel list. Seductively beautiful and perfectly placed in the heart of the Mediterranean, Sicily should be at the top of everyone's must visit list. From everything I have learned, Sicily is hard not to enjoy.  As the largest of the Italian islands, Sicily is oozing with charm, surrounded in stunning beaches, lushes mountains, warm weather and always featuring mouth-watering cuisine.

Mountains in Centuripe, Sicily, Italy. Rich in history showcasing the Roman era impact, you can see the Roman influence in architecture and Centuripe is located near Mt Etna, which is the largest active volcano in Europe. This very active volcano dominates the breathtaking landscape on the eastern side of Sicily and makes for a great day trip. Stay at the historic and traditional La Vecchia Dimora. Relax by the oversized pool, explore the acres of land filled with wild flowers and lush trees and take in the breath taking view from their terrace.

The beaches in Siracusa, Sicily, Italy. The jaw-dropping coastline of the coastal strip of Syracuse has some of the most beautiful beaches that can be found on the island, with long white sandy shorelines and magic of the crystal blue waters, it’s a must see. Stay at Blumarine villa. This modern home is walking distance to a beach and town, which is perfect for exploring, then after you can relax in the hot tub and sauna.

Find your way to Trapani and an arancini, a wonderful combination of mozzarella, tomato sauce, and meat wrapped inside of a fried rice ball (doesn't that sound delicious). Trapani is a city in western Sicily and offers a beautiful coast line view and some of the most wonderful restaurants.
