I am not very crafty but I love getting home made gifts. Those are some of the most meaningful gifts I have gotten. So I am trying my hand at this, and making a scent diffuser for a friend who just moved into her new place.
After a little bit of research (thank you Pinterest) I gathered everything I thought I would need.
Putting everything together seemed easy and most people seemed to follow a very similar process. I wanted to get quality 100% pure essential oils and aromatherapy products to use in the diffuser. I choose a Piping Rock starter kit which is perfect for all DIY-ers.
Here’s what
you will need:
2-3 small glass bottles with a narrow opening and a small
cork
5-10 bamboo
skewers
Here’s how to
make it:
Depending on
the size of your bottle, you will want to fill it about 70% of the way with
almond oil, 20% with your first essential oil scent, and 10% with the second essential oil of your choice.
Re-cap the
bottle.
When it is
time to use the diffuser, simply uncork the bottle and stick the skewers in the
opening. The skewers will absorb the oils and diffuse a lovely scent around the
room.
Tie the bundle
of bamboo sticks around the neck of the bottle using a bit of twine/rope.
You can decorate your bottles any way you want. I used gold tape and a black ribbon.
