How to deal anxiety and beat the blues.

We all have bad days... sometimes weeks, and than we become sad and anxious.
I spent most of my life ashamed of my anxiety. I felt that it made me feel as though I wasn't like everyone else, and made me sad.

As I've gotten older, I have found ways to accept it. The difference is that instead of trying to fight it, I make room for it, and rely on some tricks to make me feel better. Here are few things I do to eliminate anxiety and beat those blues:

Spend time outside every day. Even in winter go stand outside for at least 10 minutes. Its amazing what some fresh air and vitamin D can do for you.

Write things down. If you are prone to be anxious, write things down and keep organized. Its a little thing but it gives you control.

Listen to music and dance. Regardless of the genre turn up your music and have a 3 minute dance party.

Scream. Yes I said scream... If i get over whelmed or I am feeling sad, I go sit in my car, turn the music up and scream on top of my lungs.

Disconnect. Technology is everything, especially in life of a blogger, but shut your phone, TV, lap top off and take a break. I sleep with my phone by my pillow, so if I am sad I move it to my living room.

Focus on breathing. Learn how to meditate and do yoga. Being able to slow down your breath and shut your mind off even for a bit make a huge difference. Hot yoga is the only place I can effectively lay there without thinking.

Surround yourself with happy people. If you surround yourself with happy people, their happy vibes eventually come over your way.

Work out.  Cardio does wonders for your mood. Harder you run, less sad you are.

What do you do when you are not feeling 100%?
