If you read this blog, or follow me on social media you know that my mom is an incredible cook and baker. She is also one of those people who makes most of everything without a recipe - which is only frustrating for me because while I can cook and bake I need a recipe for everything.
She makes this beet and lemon concentrate juice mix that you mix with water for a delicious and healthy juice. There is ton health benefits in beets and lemon. Like most other plant-based foods, beets are high in nutrients yet low in calories. Their antioxidants also offer additional benefits, such as reduced risk of cellular damage, plus, beets are among the group of vegetables and fruits that may help reduce your risk for chronic illnesses.
This is also gonna be first recipe I m going to do in both English and Bosnian.
What you need:
- 1/2 KG beetroot
- 1/2 KG lemon
- 1/2 KG sugar
- 2 L water
- OPTIONAL - Lemongrass powder (liminutus)
How to make it:
- Clean and cut both the beetroot and the lemon (Cut the lemon and take the seeds out, but entire lemon with peel goes into the blender.)
- Put beets and lemon in a blender.
- Take the blended mix and combine it two liters and let it sit overnight.
- Strain the mixture, and then add sugar (and lemongrass powder) and mix well to bring it together (the sugar is melted)
- Put in the fridge.
- Mix about 1/4 of a cup of concentrate with with water (to taste depending who sweet you want the juice) and enjoy
Sastojci potrebni za sok:
- 1/2 KG cvekle
- 1/2 KG limona
- 1 paklic limuntusa
- 1/2 KG secera
- 2 L water
Napraviti:
- Ocisti I cveklu I limun samo peteljke sa strane znaci s korom dobro bi bilo organic limun samljeti.
- Stavit cveklu i limun u blender.
- Pomjesati taj mix sa dva litra vode da prenoci.
- Procjediti mix i do dati secer I limuntus i dobro izmjesati da se sve sastai (secer se istopi)
- Staviti u frizder.
- Smejsu razblazitivati vodom po zelji.
