5 things: Summer to-do list

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

Since summer's now in full swing… sort of, its raining today, I put together my to-do list for the season, filled with five things I'd love to accomplish before September long weekend:

1)         Learn how to drive standard. I go to Europe each year and have a horrible time finding a rental that is automatic. This time before I go, I plan on learning how to drive a stick.
2)         start & Finish my first short book. I m about half way there, I plan to have this done by 2015… wish me luck.
3)         Learn how to braid hair. I completely suck at this and braids are so pretty.
4) Learn how to make sushi. My addiction to food is well documents on the blog, I would love to master making sushi.
5)         Go to a yoga retreat. I love yoga, I am not very good at it but I love to practice. I would love to do a week yoga retreat, just to relax.

What are you plans this summer? Do you have anything special planned?

OOTD - A white affair

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

I have never been one of those people that can wear white without spilling something, but I never back out from themed parties. This weekend I was invited to "White-out" wedding party...a wear all white wedding. The intimate wedding where all guess where asked to wear white & bride and groom wore colour. It was a beautiful wedding & I managed not to spil anything on myself (Yay me!)

I am in love everything lace, so when I found this skirt at Zara I knew I had to have it. It's feminine and added with (borrowed) lace top made a perfect combo. Even tho its not the same lace print, mixing prints its and textures makes an outfit.

Skirt: Zara, Jacket: Banana Republic, Top: Lulu's, Shoes: Aldo

Happy Monday.

Thursdays and QOTD

Thursday, June 19, 2014

Some days life gets hard.
Some days you are just tired .
Those are the days to push through & make history.

This has been one exceptionally long week, and it only Thursday. I think living in hotels and eating rather unhealthy foods is getting to me… For the last 9 weeks I have stayed in a hotel, and with my job this will just continue. I laughed yesterday thinking Zack and Cody, the suite life didn’t prepare me for this (Ha! Yes, I just referenced a kid’s show) Here is few things about living at a hotel that I could get used to:
1)         Chores free! I don’t have to do any of it. The hotel wonderful maid services keeps things tidy.
2)         Gym and Pool access! Want to work out at 3am, sure why not. Wanna go for a swim, the pool is your (and in most hotels, I have the pool to myself)
3)         Room Service/24 hour Front Desk: If you are lazy and don’t wanna leave your room to get food, don’t worry there is a solution for that. You have something delivered (food or a package) the lovely front end staff with get it for you.
4)         Complimentary Breakfast – This only not saves you money but it actually entices you to have breakfast which we all know is the most important meal of the day.

The downfall of living in a hotel is the fact that the “do not disturb” doesn’t come standard… I also miss cooking and my kitchen. Few essentials that are a must (for me)…
Water bottles (yes, more then one).
        Coffee travel mug.
Humidifier. They come portable and it makes a huge difference.
Weights and/or a work out DVD.
Candles. At least it smells like home

Dont forget to eneter  to win one of two $100 ALDO giftcards.

Happy Thursday.

Happy Monday + Giveaway

Monday, June 16, 2014

I love shopping… who doesn’t! I use retail therapy as an excuse for everything; I m having a bad day I go shopping; I have a great day I go shopping; I have nothing better to do I go shopping! Yes, I know… I have a problem, but acceptance is first step to recovery, right? Shoes are my favourite thing to buy, I own over hundred pairs of shoes. Sometimes comfort doesn't matter. When a shoe is freakin' fabulous, it may be worth a subsequent day of misery. Soak in Epsom salts and take comfort in the fact that your shoes are better than everyone elses. Today, I m giving away 2 $100 gift cards to ALDO... Enter below :)

Happy Would Cup...

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Today is the day soccer fans from all over the world have been waiting for. FIFA World Cup kicks off today, with a match between hosting country team, Brazil vs. Croatia. If you follow soccer, or football as us from Europe call it, this kicks off a start to a very exciting month; a month where nations and people stand united like no other time.
If you were fortunate enough to make it to Brazil, you are about to have an experience of a life time.... Aside from all the parties, places filled with people primarily wearing soccer jerseys and caring flags, you are about to witness some of the most amazing talent in soccer and what promises to be amazing matches.

For defending champion Spain the pressure is on, but it's countries like Bosnia who are making their FIRST World Cup appearance that this is a chance of a life time. I am Bosnian, so this brings me extra joy and happiness that cant be put into words. I've been wearing my jersey most days, I have actually tried to incorporate it into my work wardrobe,  and can barely hide my excitement for what next month is about to bring.

Even if you are not a huge fan of soccer, here are some reasons of why you should defiantly watch FIFA world cup unfold:
1) Soccer fans make the best drinking buddies. Imagine best party you even been to with most interesting people ... now times that by two and you get a football world cup party. Any reason to gather in local pub and meet some people is a good reason.

2) FIFA World cup give you an excuse to "take" extended lunches and meeting.. you have to support you team and watch the games... Right?

3) World Cup commercials ROCK. Just check out YouTube. How can you not love soccer. J-lo and PitBull also have videos in order to support the world cup... Sexy, that is all I have to say!

4)  & just in case I wasn't convincing enough, I give you few more hot reasons to watch the World Cup
Sejad Salihovic, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Ronaldo , Portugal
 Olivier Giroud, France
Roque Santa Cruz, Paraguayan

 Iker Cassilas, Spain
Asmir Begovic, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Happy Soccer Days :)

Swimsuit dilemma

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

What kind of swimsuit do you wear? I've worn the same pink & white Victoria Secret, a two-piece; mostly out of habit, for my entire adult life, but it just sold out. I ordered what the site promised to be the same swimsuit, only to recieve it a week latter and it does NOT fit the same.

After nearly 10 years, of wearing the same swimsuit I need something new! I called customer service, they said they didn't know if they will ever carry the old style again or get it back in stock. So, now I'm officially on the hunt for a new suit.

I am very tall, and I would love to actually like to try a one-piece... I just cant seem to find one that fits comfortably. Some of the one piece swimsuits are so elegant and flattering, don't you think? I do worry about getting a fanny tan from walking around in a one piece swimsuit all day?

How awesome is this swimsuit?

I looked at some 2014 Trends, and while they might be amazing for the runway, I fail to see how aside from Vegas pool parties I would use some of those on day to day hanging out at the beach.

What do you wear? Do you prefer a brand? Style? Where do you shop for your swim wear???  What would you recommend??

Monday blues...

Monday, June 9, 2014

How was your weekends my dears?? I went home after a three week stay at Lethbeidge. It was great to be home; you would be surprised how much you miss little things... Like your favourite mug, your bed. I stayed on my patio and had coffee and read a book.
On Sunday I met up with few friends for a BBQ and backyard fire. After traveling so much I miss just relaxing and being with friends.
Happy Monday ☺️
