3 Must See Locations In Oz

Friday, September 13, 2019

If you are travelling to Australia any time soon, the chances are that you’re going for an extended trip. Travelling that far across the world to spend a couple of days exploring such an incredible destination makes no sense. To make it worth your while, you need at least a fortnight to explore the natural outback, the cosmopolitan cities and the unique wildlife. The Australian people are friendly and welcoming, and adore showing off their nation to tourists. You might want to explore the bright lights of the Sydney Opera House, the foodie streets of Melbourne and the wonderful golden sands of Byron Bay. However, the land of Oz is so much more than these tourist highlights. Take a look at these three must see locations in Australia.

Lesser Known Islands
While everyone knows about Tasmania, there are a few more lesser known islands surrounding the large Australian land mass. If you adore spending time on the beach, why not head off on one of the Fraser Free tours to explore the largest sand island in the world. To escape the crowds, the rugged yet beautiful Fraser island can be the perfect place to spend some time relaxing and exploring the natural wilderness. You could check out the Champagne pools, the clear waters of Eli Creek and the odd shipwreck or two adorning the beaches of the small island. The azure waters and white sand beaches are like something out of a glossy travel magazine. If you want to experience paradise, Fraser island is where it’s at.

The Grampians
Mountain climbing might not be the sort of activity that you think of when you envisage a trip to Australia. Throwing a shrimp on the barbecue, enjoying the sun’s rays and watching a spot of Australian cricket might be more apt. However the Grampians are the perfect vista for those who love a more physical activity on vacation. Just three hours west of Melbourne, the grampians are well set up for tourists. With numerous walking paths catering for all difficulty levels, you could spend a few hours strolling through the range spotting an abundance of Australian wildlife. If you fancy taking part in a climb, there are lots of guides willing to take you up the sandstone mountains. The views are ridiculous and you could be on top of the world.

Kangaroo Island
If you are venturing down south, you cannot head home without venturing to Kangaroo Island. Full of these marsupials, this island is rich with wildlife. There are visitor restrictions on the island and rightly so. The wildlife here is protected by the Australian government and only a set amount of tourists are allowed to visit each day. The best way to get on the island is to go with an official 4X4 tour company. You can hotfoot it into a jeep before whizzing around the island to take in the views, the rugged cliff, and of course, the hundreds of kangaroos hopping around.

I don't know about you but many people yearn to take a trip to Australia, me being one of them. We want to experience the outback, the wildlife and the vistas. Follow this guide and find some off the beaten track areas to escape the tourist crowds.

Elfus Yoga Wear - My 30 day Yoga Challenge Must Haves

Friday, August 9, 2019

Getting back into a routine after holidays is possibly the worst – having to get up early to exercise, especially if you work regular office hours, is difficult. However, it is amazing how much energy and motivation working out in the morning can give you, especially yoga.

Yoga is a stress reliever; it will boost your energy, improve your mood and can even help your mental health and make you feel productive and motivated. What better way to get back into swing but with a few new workout outfits. I recently discovered Elfus Yoga products, they make quality, comfortable and stylish yoga wear for us that like to wear cute an comfortable clothes around the house, specialty maternity yoga pants and a huge range of other products for everyone who wants to make most of their practice.

I always feel much better about getting back to yoga in a new outfit. This September we are starting a 30 day yoga challenge (that calls for like 5 new outfits at least, right?).
If you are doing a lot of yoga I recommend investing into a good yoga mat, couple of yoga towels, water bottle that keeps your water cold for hours, a head band and 2-3 outfits you can rotate though.

Here are few products I love, and have been a must for my yoga practice:

Comfortable, no ride up/stay in place high rise shorts.
I love these shorts because they are perfect for anyone doing hot yoga and for those hot summer days if you are practicing outside.
Click here to shop the Elfus high-waisted yoga shorts.

A good sports bra.
I like the simple and elegant design of this bra, ad the fact that I can do all the yoga in it and feel supported and comfortable.

A light weight capri yoga pants.
I personally prefer a capri length over full length especially for hot yoga, mostly because the studio gets so hot.

Coffee Date Tour: Edmonton

Thursday, November 22, 2018

Coffee is very important and so is dessert. So I went on a hunt for best coffee shops in Edmonton. Here are few of my favourite places:

District Bakery and Café
101 - 10011 109 Street, Edmonton AB T5J 0B9
District is always a favourite. Itys bright, open and serves delicious food, treats and coffee.District supports local and is part of a larger business community that supports farmers. Fresh bean coffee and baking, can’t go wrong. The baking is one fresh right in the kitchen at the back and you have to try the croissants are a must melt in your mouth fresh.

Anvil Café House

6148 90 Ave NW, Edmonton AB T6B 0P2

I stumbled upon this gem by pure luck. The service is amazing, the decor is cute and charming with chalkboard menus, a big yellow piano that holds straws, and other condiments, lots of seating and free parking!  If you're looking for a eclectic aesthetic to sit and have a coffee in you won't be disappointed -I had the latte and a turkey sandwich. SO good (and honestly I dream about it till this day!)

Bru Coffee

11965 Jasper Ave NW, Edmonton AB T5K 0P1

I've been here a number of times for coffee, work meetings, and meet ups with friends. It's always been great. It's a great place with good coffee, good food, good atmosphere, free parking, and fast wifi.

Elm Cafe

100-10140 117 St NW, Edmonton AB T5K 1X3

11811 105 Ave, Edmonton AB T5H 0L9
Unsuspecting little Bakery tucked into the Brewery District near Oliver Square. The decor is very cute with lots of room to sit, eat and lounge around. They've got antique cashier tills, a piano, cake/pastry ware, etc. The coffee is delicious, but the sweets are next level good.

10153 97 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5J 0L4
The café is crisp and clean with large windows overlooking a beautiful patio. After a friend recommending it, I have been multiple times to work. The staff was very friendly, drinks are heartwarming and they offer sandwiches and baked goods, and a menu with a few items like quiche, and toast-based things.

What are some of your favorite coffee spots in Edmonton?

Valentines Day Tea

Friday, February 10, 2017

I love Valentines day … single or in a relationship I’ve always loved Valentines day. ( well I do love any day that gives me an excuse to have chocolate J )...
And what better day than Valentines to make cookies and share them with people you love.
Pie is one of my favourite deserts.. so I made these heart shaped mixed berry mini pies for the occasion. You can use any pie crust recipe I generally use my mom's little bit & little bit of that recipe to make mine.

You will need to make (or buy ) pie crust , pie filling of your choice , heart shape cookie cutter ,and red sugar icing.

1) Cut the crust in heart shapes

2) Fill with filling fo your choice

3) Using a fork close the pie

4) Bake for 9-15 minutes at 350 degrees

5) Decorate and enjoy

Easy Chocolate Almond Bites

Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Baking is a skill, that can be learned but it's not always easy. If you want to make dessert but don't want to follow 15 step and measure things, here is a recipe for you. It takes 30 minutes from start to finish and you can not mess it up.

Ingredients:
Pie dough
Chocolate bar
Almonds, sliced
Butter, two spoons melted

Directions:
On a baking sheet /tray lay out the pie dough, and place chocolate bar in the middle.
Cut the dough in strips around the chocolate on each side, fold dough taking on strip from one side than another (essentially like a bride).
With a brush spread melted butter over dough.
Spread sliced almonds over rough.
Bake for 12-15 minutes at 375.

Enjoy.

Style file: Get her style, Lauren Conrad

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

My love for LC aka Lauren Conrad goes back to Laguna Beach days. She was my favorite and lets just say I followed her and her fashion ever since. Her style is so versatile, simple yet very elegant.  Her line at Khol's, work with The Little Market and The Beauty department is amazing. I own all of her books; which if you haven't checked out yet, you definitely should. While browsing Google.ca I had a hard time picking just one outfit for today; I m sure you will be seeing more of her on here.

If you are in New York...

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

New York is one of my all time favourite cities.
I fall in love with the city every time I go back. There is something magical about it .. Not 100% sure what it is but it never gets old. If you are in New York , plan on visiting or live there, this is one MUST see exhibit this year.

Its call MoMa Rain Room. It just opened at the Museum of Modern Art.
Heavy rain pours down in an huge room, but when you step into the rain, the area directly over your head dries up. So you can walk, dance and kiss in the rain without getting wet. It is one of the most amazing things and its simply beautiful.

How amazing is that?

This takes dancing in the rain to a new level.
