Dutch Baby Pancakes

Friday, June 26, 2020

I have made pancakes, like 10 times in a 14 day period so today I m gonna give dutch baby pancake a try. First, let me be honest, the first one didn't turn out, but the second worked out, so viola. My first mistake was trying to use my kitchenaid vs. a blender. Dutch baby pancakes are like a hybrid of a pancake, a crepe, and a popover — made in one giant skillet.
What you will need:
1 cup all purpose flour
4 eggs
1 cup of milk
1/2 of butter
Powder sugar for dusting
Fresh berries
Pancake syrup
How to make it:
Preheat oven to 450.
In a bowl, combined flour, eggs, milk, salt and half of the melted butter.
Pour mixture into a blender and mx for 30 seconds.
Heat a 10-in with remaining butter, once butter if melted, pour batter and put in the oven to bake for 15-20 minutes.
Remove from over, brush with melted butter, pour fruits in the center and dust with sugar.
cut into 4 pieces, serve with pancake syrup.
Have you made dutch baby pancakes a try before?

Must Have Kitchen Gadgets

Tuesday, June 23, 2020

I m one of those people that when it comes to kitchen gadgets, I can go a little, okay a lot crazy and out of control. LIke walking into any store, especially Hudson's Bay and Canadian Tire I find like 5 things for my kitchen that I MUST have - but if we are being real, none of them are a must have, just a want.
However here are 5 kitchen gadgets that everyone need, because they will make your kitchen so much more effective.

A stand mixer.
I swear by my Kitchen Aid but in theory any stand mixer will do and is essential. If you like to bake - anywhere from bread to dessert you wanna use

Instant Pot.
had no idea what I was missing before I actually used mine. My parents got me one but i just recently started using it - it's like magic. Its fast, efficient, precise, intuitive, and perfectly capable of replacing most other devices in your kitchen (like a rice maker, slow cooker, steamer).

Garlic Press.
Specifically this Ikea $5.99 garlic press. It's easy to clean, stainless steel and awesome.

Immersion Blender.
I don't have a blender so I use this bad boy to make delicious smoothies & blended drinks, and soup.

Mixing bowls.
Quality mixing bowls are necessary for any kitchen. I got these Master Chef mixing bowls with lids. I love that there’s nothing to shatter or chip, making them both durable and long-lasting, and their lightweight profile makes them easy to use. Plus they are great for storage.

What are you must have kitchen tools?

Easy Shrimp Pizza

Friday, June 19, 2020

Guys, I have made pizza 10 times over the last month. Now that I have perfected the dough - I decided to experiment. This pizza is fresh and super easy to make. Since my dough got big I folded some cheese in the edges and let me tell you, GAME CHANGER.
What you will need:
For dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon fresh yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons olive oil + additional
1 cup warm water

For rest of the pizza:
20 Shrimps
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp buffalo sauce
1 cup garlic Alfredo sauce
6 mushrooms sliced
10 tomatoes slices
1 1/2 cups cheese shredded

How to make it:
Put yeast into 1/4 of warm water and stir.
Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
Add olive oil and 3/4 warm water and yeast water mixture and use a wooden spoon to stir well very well.
Add any additional flour as needed stirring until the dough is forming into a combined well. The dough will still be slightly sticky but still should be manageable with your hands.
Allow dough to rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
Preheat your oven to 425F (215C).
Once the dough has risen, use your hands to gently deflate it and transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead briefly until smooth (about 3-5 times).
Use either a rolling pin to work the dough into 12" circle.
Drizzle additional olive oil (about a Tablespoon) over the top of the pizza and use your pastry brush to brush the entire surface of the pizza (including the crust) with olive oil.
Use a fork to poke holes all over the center of the pizza to keep the dough from bubbling up in the oven.
Cook shrimp with seasoning to taste. Use alfredo sauce instead pizza sauce, add desired toppings and bake in a 425F (215C) preheated oven for 13-15 minutes or until toppings are golden brown. Slice and serve.

How to Update Your Old Sandals

Thursday, June 18, 2020

I love shoes, I think you all know that about me by now. Sadly, I m fairly hard on my shoes, so they end up getting damaged, or broken. I m on operation don't-buy-more-(ANY)-things and being in love with all my shoes, I couldn't just throw them away. So I decided to DIY and update my old scratched and worn sandals.
Its fairly simple  - you will need tacky glue, material of choice, and scissor.
Clean heels, make sure they are dry.

Cut the pieces slightly larger than you think you will need (its always easier to cut the fabric down than realize you are short once you started gluing it).
For the heel - I started at the back on top and glue done the center. From there I followed the curve of the heel it and cut the pieces (on a slant), applied glue and folded over.
For the toe part - I measured the length and abut a centimetre more width wise so I can fold over the fabric.

5 of The Best Movies Based on Books

Tuesday, June 16, 2020

I love reading, and I love movies. I am always curious to watch movies based on books I have read. On a side not ALWAYS read the book first. There are hundreds of movies based on books, many classics that are a must see, but here are the five of best movies done in last couple of years, in no particular order, according to me:

The book was good, but this movie hit me in the feels. Go see this!

This might be on of my new favourites. I loved the book but the cast, the acting, this film is simply spectacular!

This might have been a hit or a miss depending on who you aks but I highly enjoyed it. The book was good, inspired by true events and the acting was magnificent.

Loved the book, loved the movie. Watched it 3 times, read it twice. Its funny, its entertainment and acting is so amazeballs.

ROMCOMS FOR THE WIN! Don't at me with your hate on romcoms. I loved this book I read it in one sitting, the movie is great and cute.

What are your favourite book to movie adaptations?

Read the books before you watch these movies:

To state the obvious, it’s starting to feel like Summer, which means one thin, time to bring out all the summer white dress out.  A good flowy dress like this is an essential during these hot, sunny months because you can use it for any occasion, look good and feel comfortable. I love this one I picked out because of the eyelet details and the pleat details. I paired it with simple slides but this dress would work so well with wedges and a purse for pop of color.

OOTD - Button Down

Wednesday, June 10, 2020

Button down dresses are just as comfy as pajamas but infinitely more stylish. This dress has everything that's essential for Summer - cute ruffle sleeves, buttons, and pockets. Today I styled it with converse and made me feel like I was ready for a day out in Croatia. Swapping converse for heels and a red lip can take this dress from day to night.
