Thanksgiving appetizers

Friday, October 9, 2020

At my house, my mom is responsible for cooking the bird (and generally like four other things with it) and we are not allowed to help because we will mess it up… so we have been tasked with making appetizers and desserts for years. My siblings and I split who is making what and over years, I have rounded few things that have been a huge hit at Thanksgiving. First up, appetizers! Some of these can be filling so its all about portion control (and starting early)

Bruschetta: this recipe is something I make evening before or few hours before serving it because longer the bruschetta mix sits, better it tastes.

Thanksgiving Turkey Cheese Bits: It took me forever to find where I got this recipe ( I wrote it down on a sticky note haha) from but its delicious and always a huge hit.

Spicy Chicken Dip: I originally made this dip for Basketball playoff season but it can easily be adopted to any holiday gathering…serve it with fancier crackers and ta da!

Stuffed Mushrooms: These mushrooms are always a hit and are easy to make. Best part you can make them ahead of time and just throw them in the oven.

Beet root dip: I was skeptical when I first made this but OH MY GOD, I make it all the time now. Super easy (gluten free on its own), you can serve it with cucumbers or carrots or crackers.

What ate you making this thanksgiving?
